Bio:
Elyssa grew up in New Jersey as a gymnast and competitive cheerleader. She went to college hoping to become a doctor (pre-med track). After graduation, she decided to move to Denver, CO to explore the mountains and take a gap year while applying to medical school. During that time, she started training at Awaken Gymnastics where the owner asked her to model some online content for them. Soon following, Elyssa took multiple GymnasticBodies seminars, fell in love with teaching gymnastics and hand-balance to adults, and then became a full-time fitness instructor. She started doing personal training sessions, teaching all different types of gymnastic classes, and coaching at Orange Theory.

Elyssa decided to move back to the east coast and live in New York City. She continued coaching adult gymnastics classes and doing private training at Transform Fitness. Elyssa started training with kettlebells and soon after got her StrongFirst Certification.

Continuing her fitness journey, Elyssa began to follow some mobility queens on instagram, some being CrossFit athletes, which opened up her world to CrossFit’s methodology. She fell in love with watching CrossFit competitions and following the elite athletes. Once the open came around in February 2022, she decided to finally join a CrossFit gym and do the open for the first time. Elyssa knew a couple members from CFUS already, and heard about the elite programming and coaching, and quickly decided that CFUS was the right gym for her. After one month as a member, Elyssa got her CF-L1. Coaching has been Elyssa’s passion for the past 9 years plus, and she is so happy to be sharing that with the incredible CrossFit community at CFUS. Elyssa continues to be inspired by all of the coaches, members, and staff at CFUS every day (literally, she hates missing just one day at the gym).
